4L30E Solenoid Kits

Over the past year we have seen an increase demand for the 4L30E solenoid kit listing on the website.

We heard you loud and clear and added the three different solenoid kit available. We all know that it is a real good idea to change them all once you are in there. The truth is no one wants to go back in to change another solenoid, buy more fluid, change the pan gasket again..... once you have been in there.

There is one kit for years 1990 to 1999 for BMW only, from 1990 to 1999 for Non-BMW vehicles and one for 2000 and up regardless of vehicle manufacture.

But if you do decide you only need one or two solenoids we can help there to.

S650 - ZF Design For GM And Ford

The S650, which is also known as the S6-650 is a rear wheel drive manual transmission with 6 forward speed and one rear speed, used in 2Wd and 4Wd configurations.

This is a heavy duty ZF design unit used in Ford and General Motors pickup trucks requiring a strong and flexible transmission.

Even though the units are similar for the Ford and Chevy sharing some parts there are differences between the two. For example the front half of the case, which includes the bell housing, is different and so is the tail housing.

Among the bearings, gaskets, seals, and synchros we also carry the forks, shafts, oil pump, key and spring kit and many other parts.

Todays Topic - 4L30E Parts For a Proper Rebuild

The 4L30E is a 4 speed automatic by General Motors. It is used in Chevrolet, Cadillac, BMW and Honda. The most common parts sold to rebuild or repair this unit are the Master Kit, Brake Band and Filter. It is suggested the Valve Body Kit, Thrust Washer Kit and Bushing Kit also be purchased and installed for a more complete rebuild.

The filter and filter kits are different for BMW and the same for the rest of the vehicles. The brake band, bushing kit, thrust washer kit and valve body kit are the same for all years and vehicle makes.

For the most part all parts are compatible across the line for most commonly parts sold for a rebuild. There are some exceptions such as the filter and there are some variations on hard parts.

A Whole Lot of Parts for the 4L60E

As far as the 4L60E goes, it is probably one of the most common used 4 speed automatic transmissions. It is used in passenger vehicles, vans, mini vans, SUVs, trucks and others I am sure. It is strong, reliable, adaptable and abundant. Due to these factors parts are readily available and will be long after it is retired from the manufacturing line.

There are two drums in this transmission, lets take a closer look at the differences:

Input Drum with Shaft:
With pilot; excluding 2.8L and 4 cyl (298mm, 30 spline converter) 1993-Up
With out pilot; 2.8L and 4 cyl (245mm, 27 spline converter) 1993-Up
With out pilot; 300mm, 30 spline converter 1998-2005
With out pilot: 300mm, 30 spline converter with reluctor 2006-Up

Reverse Input Drum:
No check ball, has round oil holes in bore 1993
No check ball with large feed holes 1993-Up

The Bushing Kit, Thrust Washer Kit and Bearing kit are the same for all years. Parts can also be purchased individually instead of the kit.
