Hyundai Transfer Case Chain

Hyundai has employed different transfer cases for the vehicles it manufactures. And different transfer cases use different chains. Here we will speak about a few of the chains and their dimensions.

A1 Van and Galloper with the BorgWarner BW4402: 1.00" inch wide, 62 pitches at .5033", 31 links with a round pin design.

Terracan, Highlander and A1 with the BW4424 ESOF: 1.00" inch wide, 62 pitches at .5033", 31 links with a round pin design.

Terracan, Highlander and A1 with the BW4424 TOD: 1.25" inch wide, 74 pitches at .4346", 37 links with a rocker pin design. This chain has two blue links separated by one one link.

KM162 Standard Transmission

The KM-162 Manual Gearbox is manufactured by the Mitsubishi Motor Company. It is a 5 speed front wheel drive unit.

The KM 162 was used in the Mitsubishi:

    Cordia and Tredia from 1983 to 1988 with the 1.8 liter engine.

    Mirage from 1985 to 1986 with the 1.5 liter engine.

    Precis from 1986 -1989 with the 1.5 liter engine.

The KM 162 was also used in the Hyundai Excel and Pony from 1984 to 1989, 1.5L with no rear cover.

Both the Mitsubishi and the Hyundai transmission are made of aluminum and use a vacuum can.

KM200 Standard Transmission

The KM-200 manual gearbox is a 4 speed front wheel drive used in Mitsubishi and Hyundai vehicles.

Mitsubishi:
    Mirage from 1986 to 1992 with the 1.5 liter engine.

    Precis from 1989 to 1994 with the 1.5 liter engine.

Hyundai:
    Excel from 1989 to 1994 with the 1.5 liter engine; came with a 7 bolt rear cover.

Hyundai Standard Transmission KM160

The Hyundai Excel and Pony from 1985 to 1989 with the 1.5 Liter engine uses the manual 4 speed front wheel drive transmission KM 160.

The KM160 comes with the vacuum can and no rear cover.
