700-R4, 4L60E Valve Body Clips and Check Balls

The valve body check balls and clips pictured below are for the 700R4 (4L60), 4L60E, 4L65E and the 4L70E for all years.

It is suggested to purchase the 10 pack of each, the check balls can be purchased individually. The exact amount needed will depend on your particular need. The check balls could be steel or brass

FN4A-EL, 4F27-E Solenoid and Wire Harness

The Ford 4F27E and the Mazda FN4AEL are basically the same transmission with some difference depending on the vehicle. The wiring harness and solenoids are the same for all versions of the unit (1999-Up).

This electronic 4 speed automatic uses:

One Electronic Pressure Control EPC Solenoid,
Three C,D, E Shift Control PWM Solenoids and
Two A, B Shift Control On/Off Solenoids

The wire harness pictured below is the internal wire harness. The wire harness just as the solenoids are compatible with both the Ford and Mazda versions of the transmission and covers all years of production. The Transmission Range Switch (Neutral Safety), Output Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), Trans Oil Temperature Sensor (TOT / TFT) and the Input Turbine Speed Sensor (TSS) are also compatible with both car manufactures and all years.

T10 and Super T10 Shafts

The T-10 and Super T-10 is a rear wheel drive 4 speed standard transmission or gear box. The T10 could contain a casting number of 1304 and the case is made of iron. The Super T10 has an aluminum case. This gear box is used by AMC, Dodge, Ford and GM.

There is a total of 5 shafts in the gear box; the input, cluster, main, counter and reverse idler shaft. The input and cluster shafts could have a ratio of 2.43, 2.64, 2.88 or 3.42. An easy way to determine the ratio is by the tooth count. There is a 12", 21" and 21 3/4" main shaft and the counter shaft is either 1 or 7/8 inch in diameter. There is only one reverse idler shaft.

THM 6L45E, 6L50E, 6L80E, 6T70E, 6T75E (6F50E, 6F55E) Transmission

A few months ago I heard that General Motors and Ford where going to share some drive train components in an effort to reduce cost. The results of that statement are starting to appear in new vehicles.

The 6L45, 6L50, 6L80, 6T70, 6T75 are all six speed automatic transmissions. The "L" following the 6 indicates a rear wheel drive unit and the "T" indicates a front wheel drive unit. The number that follows is in relation to the relative torque capacity of the unit and the E means it is an electronically controlled unit.

The unit that is being shared between the two vehicle manufacture titans at first glance of the information available is the front wheel drive unit. GM's model number is 6T70 and the 6T75 and Ford's designation is 6F50 and 6F55E.

The units are still very new to the market, introduced in 2007, and information is still scarce. From the information available for parts this what we do know:

The overhaul kit, banner kit and master kit are different for the Ford and GM.
The bushing kit is different too.

Frictions, steels, pressure plates, sealing ring kit, thrust washer kit, bearing kit and pump seem to be shared in both units.

Here is a short list of some models using the FWD:

Buick Enclave
Chevrolet Acadia, Equinox, Yukon Denali
Ford Flex, Taurus

ZF5HP18 Valve Body Gaskets

The ZF 5HP18 is a 5 speed rear wheel drive automatic transmission primarily used in the BMW. There are two possible valve body gaskets as illustrated below in the pictures.

Part number 1056 327 110 is the valve body gasket used in North American application and 1056 327 100 version of the gasket is not usually not used in North America. It is suggested to purchase the set of two if you are not sure which one you need. The price difference between just buying one compared to the set is minor.

The last picture where both gaskets are in the same picture side by side you will notice blue arrows pointing out some of the more visible differences between the two.
