KM177-8 / F4A23 Planet Set

When first manufactured the KM 177-8 was the name of the unit. Later all KM series transmission where renamed. The 177-8 was renamed to the F4A23. This transmission was used by Mitsubishi, Dodge, Chrysler, Hyundai, Eagle and other manufactures.

There are two different planet sets, one with a grove and another without the grove on the edge of the pinion. As long as the whole planet set is changed it does not matter which one you use.

The planet set contain as its major components:

Reverse Sun Gear Bushing
Reverse Sun Gear
Forward Sun Gear Bushing
Forward Sun Gear
Planetary Gear with Sprag
Ring Gear
