Fordomatic, FMX - Case Description

The Fordomatic or Ford-O-Matic is also referred by some as the Cruiseomatic (Cruise-O-Matic). Several vehicles used the Fordomatic 3 speed including:

The FMX transmission are used by:

• Ford passenger vehicles
• Mercury

The small and medium iron cases are easily distinguished by the pan gasket. Transmission kits are different for the small case, medium case and the FMX.

The Fordomatic 2 speed are used by:

• Ford
• Falcon
• Comet
• Mercury
• Meteor
• Fairlane
• And others

Transmission kits, filter, bands, valve body kits and hard parts are available for the Ford o Matic, FMX, medium and small iron case. Some parts are special order and because of when these units where produced some parts are becoming harder to come by.
