AW55-50SN, AW55-51SN Valve Body

At the present time there are four different versions of the AW5550SN (AW5551SN) Transmission. There is the one used in the Volvo and Nissan version with first and second designs. The Saturn and Saab version also have first and second design.

One can distinguish between the Volvo and Saturn by the S2 solenoid. The SLS and SLT solenoid will identify between the first and second design. Another, possibly easier, way to identify between the 1st and 2nd design is by locating the casting letter located just above and to the right of the SLS solenoid. No letter or an "A" will indicate 1st design and the letter "B" or "C" indicates 2nd design.

For GM and Saturn the AW 55-50SN might also be referred to as the AF33-5, and for Nissan it is referred to as the RE5F22A.

When replacing the valve body and or rebuilding this transmission a reflash or relearn may be required for proper performance. In some models shift feels and downshift clunks could result as well as shorter transmission life. Always use proper transmission fluid.

New Process 261 Range Hub and Slider

Here is a picture of the range hub and slider for the NP261. The NP263 and the NP263XHD range slider and hub are different and the pictures for those are coming soon. The hub is where the fork engages and should be carefully inspected when replacing the fork or forks.

KM182 Manual Transmission

The KM-182 manual transmission is a 5 speed all wheel drive unit.

This unit was used in a couple of Dodge vehicles, the Colt and Colt Vista.
From 1988 to 1990 with the 1.8L engine the second ring synchro is 60mm just like the 2.0L from 1985 to 1987. There is also a second ring synchro that is 61mm for the 2.0L from 1985 to 1987.

If your order will include the synchronizers it is important to verify the second ring synchro size for the 2 liter from 85-87 to assure proper parts and or kit will be ordered.

Borg Warner Remanufactured Transfer Cases

We now offer a full line of re-manufactured BorgWarner gear boxes, also known as the transfer case. The transfer case is the unit that sends power to the two wheels the transmission does not to. For example if you have a rear wheel drive vehicle the transfer case sends power to the front wheels.

All of our re-maned units use the same top quality parts that you would purchase from us if you where rebuilding the unit yourself.

When ordering please provide us with the information on the tag and the year, make, model and engine size of the vehicle.
