There are several options available for the Forward Drum on the 4R44E, 4R55E, 5R44E and the 5R55E Ford automatic transmissions.This unit was used in the Aerostar, Explorer, Explorer Sport and Sport Trac, Ranger and Mountaineer to name a few.
Below you will find a list of options available for the forward drum. When ordering please make sure the correct one is shipped from the list below. The word "Clutch" below means the amount of clutches or frictions that fit into the drum.
Forward Drum:
- 4 Clutch with Bearings between Rings (5R55E) 1997-Up
- 5 Clutch with Bearings between Rings (5R55E) 1997-Up
- 5 Clutch, uses a Bearing for the Center Support to the Forward Drum 1995-Up
- 5 Clutch, does not use a Bearing for the Center Support to the Forward Drum 1995-Up
- 6 Clutch, uses a Bearing for the Center Support to the Forward Drum 1995-Up (Pictured Below)
- 6 Clutch, does not use a Bearing for the Center Support to the Forward Drum 1995-Up
- 6 Clutch with Collar Bearing Design 1997-Up
